Andy Haun
Chairman of the Board +
Treasurer
Andy Haun is Joyce Ferris Esophageal Cancer Foundation’s Board Chair and Treasurer. Andy is Joyce's younger brother. He is married to Katherine Conrad and resides in Overland Park, KS. He celebrates his three daughters, two step-daughters, and grandson, who reside in Kansas City, as well as scattered locations from Los Angeles to Atlanta.
Mr. Haun is an electrical engineer with a 40-year career in engineering design and construction. His area of specialty is electric power generating facilities, and he has had major roles in the construction of six new generating stations in four states. He also has managed or had major roles in over 50 plant automation and pollution control upgrade projects, for plants serving the electric grid in 15 states and the northern third of Chile.
Volunteering has been part of Mr. Haun’s life as well. He has served in roles varied from church leadership positions to basketball coach. As part of a church mission program, Andy led the technical and construction aspects of the siting, procurement, transport, construction, and on-going maintenance for two purified water systems for communities in southern Mexico. The systems provide clean drinking water for 300-700 persons, living in locations with ineffective water treatment, who otherwise could not afford the cost of bottled water. This effort included nine trips to the states of Chiapas and Tabasco over a ten-year period.
In his free time Mr. Haun enjoys running, live music, golf, home improvements, and general gallivanting with family and friends. He is proud of his association with JFECF.
