Matthew Ferris

Vice President

Matthew Ferris serves as the Vice President of the Joyce Ferris Esophageal Cancer Foundation, carrying forward the legacy of his beloved mother, Joyce Ferris, who lost her life to esophageal cancer. Joyce was more than a mother—she was Matthew’s rock, his first teacher in the kitchen, and a constant source of warmth, love, and strength. She instilled in Matthew and his sister, Lauren, the values of integrity, respect, and the importance of showing up—both in life and for others.

With over 15 years of experience in the hospitality, restaurant, and beverage industry—spanning roles in hotels, restaurants, distribution, and Regional Sales Management—Matthew brings both leadership and heart to the foundation. His deep understanding of connection, service, and community fuels his mission to raise awareness, advocate for early detection, and ultimately help eliminate esophageal cancer.

Matthew is committed to making his mother’s story known and to ensuring that others facing this disease have hope for a better future. Through his work with the foundation, he strives to honor Joyce’s memory by advancing research and pushing for a reliable early detection test that could save countless lives.
