Ron Ferris
Founder + CEO
President of the Board
Ron lost his wife, Joyce, of nearly 40 years on July 31, 2023. After years of planning and preparation, Ron was slated to retire as an executive in the construction industry on August 1, 2023. Two major life events within 24 hours found Ron reeling with grief with lots of time on his hands and lots of gas in the tank. He was determined to turn that grief and energy into a positive. He dedicated his focus to raising funds in support of those doctors and scientists that devote their time, talents and skills to developing esophageal cancer tests that identify the cancer in the early stages of this deadly disease. In hopes to find a protocol that would have saved Joyce, but could now save countless others.
When Ron isn't fund raising he loves to travel, play golf, fish, hunt and most importantly spend time with his two adult children, their spouses and his two grandchildren. Ron also has an extensive track record in serving the community; past roles include:
-
Chairman, Lenexa Economic Development Council
-
Board Member, DeSoto Economic Development Council
-
Praise Worship Leader, Shawnee United Methodist Church
Ron is currently serving as a Grassroots Leader for ECAN, the Esophageal Cancer Action Network. His role includes lobbying members of the Kansas State Legislature advocating for esophageal cancer patients and their families.
For those grieving from loss, Ron highly recommends a national program called Grief Share. Grief Share classes take place weekly all across the United States. Please visit www.griefshare.org if you are suffering from the loss of a loved one to find a class near you.
